Well, I have come full circle. Let me explain…
Back in 2004 I went to Hawaii to be a mission builder for the Kona YWAM (Youth With A Mission) base. I was there for 3 months and returned home at the end of November. When I returned I had a meeting with my pastor and he offered me the position as head youth leader.
I took the position starting part-time. Now before I went to Hawaii I was already a leader there as well as a high school Math and Science teacher at a Christian school. I was also substituting at the local schools to earn a living.
Okay now that you have the background here is where it gets interesting… the school I used to teach at contacted me asking to fill a position ASAP. To make a long stroy short I accepted it, since most of our students in the ministry went to that school. Well it was that February that my plate became too full and overwhelming. I also decided to propose to my wife at that time.
Phew! So much was happening and at the time I didn’t understand exactly what God was doing but I felt I needed step down from my position as head leader. Well, one of the other leaders stepped up and actually became paid staff. My wife and I decided it would be best if we took time off ministry so we could spend time cultivating our relatinship. Which would be a benefit when we stepped back into ministry. (Click here for more on our story)
Well… that time has come. We are stepping back into youth ministry. We are really excited to serve the youth again! I’ll be posting more on our adventures.
